Electronic Cigarettes Gave Me Another Possibility In Life Posted By: Chris Warne
This is my sincere experience and i’m sharing this, considering it could motivate a few others to transform their lives meaningfully. Trust me friends, it is taking a lot of audacity for me to come up live as well as own up that I was an addict smoker who was smoking a minimum of thirty fags a day. Not only this, in severe depression the rise kept mounting higher and I kept raising my cigarette consumption till the time I could barely get up with out popping a smoke in my mouth. Life would be a total mess, and house was in cinders. I had no friends who would remain beside an addict who did not eat, cannot clean but only smoke. This way my life till I got to know of electric cigarettes.
Life was a total mess. And I realize that I was falling for a severe prey, but I could not do much about it. Though I realized that my addiction was isolating me from my buddies, family and a healthy way of life, I still could not bring myself to give up smoking tobacco. Every day, truly early afternoon, when I woke up, I blamed myself for this life situation & my dilapidated life condition. But I did not know how to handle this! What was worst was that I found it hard to combat my loneliness and handle my situation all by myself. My hands and my hair reeked of tobacco smoke constantly and also the greasiness caused inside by excessive smoking, led to lack of appetite.
But this was not to work for long, the life span is short and one needs to take many lessons in life. I had created a severe intestinal infection due to remaining hungry for longer durations and by being gastric due to excessive smoke and pollution. That is when I had to force myself to visit a doctor. The physician examined the complete thing and informed me that it was surprising that I did not have any dangerous infection already. He also warned me that I might run into cancer if I did not stop myself at my current stature. I sure got panicked and was worried. He referred a counsellor who would listen to me and offer mental assistance while he agreed to cure me of the addiction and also the ailments.
Paying heed I went over to the clinical psychologist who listened to me carefully and urged me to create light of the scenario and forgive myself. He suggested that I opt and try electronic cigarettes as soon as. I listened to him and did, and believe me; it took me no time in shifting from dangerous and vociferous tobacco cigarettes to electric cigarettes. E-cigs got me connected in to vaping, which permitted me to enjoy the puff and avoid the harmful results in the meanwhile. First, it was difficult but steadily I became habitual to the taste of e-cigarettes. Surprisingly after substituting my preference to these electric cigarettes, these also reduced my intensity of smoking, rather than thirty cigarettes I only now needed to vape twice or thrice. Actually these three smokes, only permitted me to consume 0.1 percent nicotine compared to the harmful whole. It saved me thus, in two protective measures. E-cigarettes gave me another opportunity in life!!!
This Is How I Gave Up Smoking Posted By: Neil MacLeod
Enough was enough and this time I decided to turn to a more regimental approach to stop smoking.
The TV adverts had caught my eye. NHS quit smoking packs were available free via calling a phone number of entering a form online. I filled out the form and within a week the pack arrived. My initail thoughts were far from complimentary. A calendar, stickers and a toy to keep my hands occupied. However the month chart intrigued me as it let me know how I would feel at certain stages of the giving up cycle.
I rang the quit help line and arranged an appointment to see my local stop smoking consultant. My first visit invoived blowing into a carbon monoxide recording device. The result was 21. From that the consultant was able to ascertain that I was a borderline heavy smoker. This did not coma as a surprise to me as I had been smoking for twenty years. I had previously given up for about siz months nut made that fatal mistake of having just one. Then I was back to the habit straight away.
The consultant prescribed a course of Champix tablets. Champix was available on prescription if I was taking the NHS stop smoking meetings. I starte doff on a low dose just to ensure that there were no side effects, then after about a week I increased the dose. It was one tablet a day and I was still allowed to smoke whilst taking them. The consultant had laid out a plan which included a stop smoking day, so whilst I was able to smoke and take the Champix ther was a deadline that I knew I had to quit.
And so it came! February 24th was my quit day. I now had to visit the consultant every week and every week I blew into the carbon monoxide testing equipment to prove I had not smoked. This was my greatest deterrent from smoking. The fact I had to see the consultant who I had looked in the eye and said, “yes, I’ll do it”.
It was tough, but I knew it would be. It is a mind game and your mind is fighting your body and your will power to try and beat you. The toy I had scoffed at came in very handy. The tough challenge was socialising and not smoking. I had purchased a non-nicotene electronic cigarette and whilst the taste was quite different to a normal cigarette the feeling of inhaling and exhaling got me by. It worked and I had been out for the first time in years without smoking a cigarette.
It is now December as I right this article and I am officially a non-smoker and proud of it. I did put on some weight, which I expected, but since I feel a lot fitter now I joined the gym and my new found will power is pushing me down there a couple of times a week. Yes, I still get cravings, but my will power is now stronger than my minds cravings and I can easily say no.
